Shifting Realities

With Jojakim Cortis

In the photo project Shifting Realities, we explore how familiar places and objects can be playfully shifted through staging, light and scale, turning everyday scenes into surprising, unsettling or poetic image worlds. A tent might appear on Paradeplatz, or a tree might become visible at an unimagined size.

Inspired by artists such as Thomas Demand, Jeff Wall and Erwin Wurm, we combine reality and fiction and experiment with enlargement, reduction and alienation. The aim is to create independent image worlds that retell reality.
