Photography is said to depict reality. It can also invent it. In this workshop, students build a room from paper and cardboard, light it, and photograph it so that it looks like a real place.

Working in groups of three, they sketch the space, list the materials, and build a model no bigger than half a tabletop, at a scale such as 1:8. Viewpoint, framing and light decide whether the picture convinces.
